Juan González has been co-host of Democracy Now! since the show’s launch in 1996. A former staff columnist with the New York Daily News and professor of journalism at Rutgers University, he is currently a Senior Fellow at Great Cities Institute of the University of Illinois-Chicago. He is author of the classic Harvest of Empire: A History of Latinos in America, was a founder and leader of the New York Young Lords in the late 1960s and is a past president of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
