To supplement the Call For Art and leading up to the conference, SJI’s Portal Project, Haymarket Books, Art.coop, and Artists for Radical Imagination co-hosted three virtual information sessions for artists and culture workers interested in exchanging with grassroots organizers. Economic democracy with Francisco Perez (Economics for Emancipation) and Camila Tapia-Guilliams (Transverse Cooperative); Climate justice with Mark Chavez (Climate Justice Alliance); Abolition with Richie Reseda (Question Culture).
Call for Art Deadline: August 26
Through the Portal will host an exhibition of artists whose work uplifts and envisions the worlds we want. We’re looking for artists to submit two-dimensional work in any style that imagines or is inspired by social justice movements. The deadline for submissions is August 26.
